At Woodland, worship is central, Bible study is emphasized and a friendly atmosphere prevails.

In our worship style, we value a chance to communicate with God through music, prayer, meditation, and the proclamation of the Word.

We emphasize the participation of lay persons in worship services, since we believe we are all called to be ministers.

9 Woodland began as a mission of Manor Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in 1989 and constituted as a church in 1991. For the two first years, Woodland met in a glass factory, while building our first building. Woodland now has a campus nestled among a naturally preserved wooded area and consists of four main buildings: the Sanctuary, the Education & Administration building, the Children & Youth building and Maresh Hall.

Woodland cooperates with numerous missions and ministry organizations. Woodland actively supports the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship, the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the San Antonio Baptist Association, finding in them a continued emphasis on the autonomy of the local church and the priesthood of all believers. Our members have found that Woodland is a community that allows them to use their talents and grow in their spiritual pilgrimage.
