Debra Arredondo

Debra Arredondo serves Woodland as the office manager. Debra brings many years of administrative, clerical, computer and management experience. Her interests are reading, traveling, watching sports and enjoying time with her family. She has two adult daughters and three grandchildren, Seth, Maddie, and Morgan.

Margaret Bray

Margaret Bray serves as Woodland's organist. She holds a master's degree in music literature (University of Houston-1987) and is certified as a Colleague of the American Guild of Organists (1993). Serving as organist in churches in Maryland and Houston before moving to San Antonio in 1996, she maintains a private piano studio in Churchill Estates. Gardening is a special interest, as well as visiting her two children and two grandchildren on the East Coast.

   
Mike Dalton

Mike Dalton is Woodland’s finance manager. He worked for 22 years in executive financial positions for Tesoro Corporation, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and NCNB Texas National Bank. Mike holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Idaho. He and his wife, Dena, have two daughters.

   
Ellen

Ellen Holden Di Giosia was named minister with children in April 2009, after serving as interim minister with children since August 2008. She is a graduate of Mississippi College (BA music 1995) and George W. Truett Theological Seminary (MDiv 2001). She previously served churches in Valley Mills and San Marcos as minister of music and minister for senior adult outreach, respectively. Ellen and her husband, Tony, have two children, Gemma and Luca.

Jud Edwards

Judson Edwards became pastor of Woodland in July 1997 after 20 years as pastor of Heritage Park Baptist Church in Houston. Jud is a graduate of Baylor University (BA 1971) and of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv 1974). He is the author of ten books, including his most recent release, Making the Good News Good Again: Recovering the Wonder of the Gospel. Jud and his wife, Sherry, have two grown children, Stacy and Randel, and two grandsons, Anthony and Bodie. His interests include writing, reading, tennis, and guitar.

Randy Edwards

Randy Edwards joined Woodland's staff in November 2005. Randy served as minister of music at First Baptist Church of San Antonio, First Baptist Church of Shreveport, Louisiana, and Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio before coming to Woodland. He is also the founder of YouthCUE, a non-profit interdenominational organization which seeks to "radically impact the lives of youth" through the youth choir experience. Randy has com­posed numerous published choral anthems and has authored the most comprehensive textbook to date on youth choir ministry, entitled Reveal­ing Riches and Building Lives: Youth Choir Ministry in the New Millennium. Randy has three children, Preston, Ashley and Kathryn.

Hernandez

Ramiro Hernandez serves Woodland as custodian and maintenance director. He joined the staff in 2004 and supervises a part-time custodial assistant. Ramiro has a wife, Patsy, and two sons and a daughter.

   
Lance

Lance Mayes joined the Woodland staff August 1, 2009,as minister to students. He served as minister to youth for 15 years at First Baptist in College Station, First Baptist in Brownfield, and Belmont Baptist in Odessa. He is a graduate of Baylor University (BBA 1991) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MA-RE 1994). Lance and his wife Jennie have two children, Nicholas and Leah. Lance enjoys spending time with his family, technology, and the outdoors.

Bill Nichols

Bill Nichols joined Woodland's staff as minister of education and administration in March 2004. He and his wife were charter members of Woodland. Bill’s most recent ministry post was as pastor of First Baptist Church of Gonzales, Texas. He retired from the television industry as CEO, Chairman of the Board and founder of Kaleidoscope Television Network, and he was previously a founder and Senior VP of ACTS (American Christian Television System). Bill holds a PhD from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he taught Christian Philosophy, Communications, Evangelism, and The Hebrew-Christian Worldview vs. Other World Religions. Bill is married to Phyllis Clark Nichols, a composer, concert singer, pianist and writer. They have two daughters and three grandchildren.

Phyllis Nichols

Phyllis Nichols has served as the pianist for Woodland's adult and youth choirs and adult ensemble since 2004. She is a writer, composer and concert singer. Prior to working at Woodland, Phyllis was Executive VP of the Kaleidoscope Television Network and earlier served as minister of music in two churches in Georgia. Phyllis and her husband, Bill, have two daughters and three grandchildren.

   
Rich Rathbun

Rich Rathbun is the director of the Woodland Pastoral Counseling Ministry. He is a graduate of Baylor University (BA), Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MDiv), West Texas A&M University (MEd), and Brite Divinity School, where he received a PhD in Pastoral Theology and Counseling. He has served as a pastoral counselor for over 18 years and is credentialed in Texas as a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. He is married to the Rev. Lee Ann Rathbun and has a son named Ryan.
