The Woodland ministerial staff are going to blog about various topics.
What is a blog? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blog
A blog (a contraction of the term "web log") is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
We want to make these blogs interactive, a conversation. We encourage comments! Please join the discussion. Following are some ground rules. These are based on a post by Ed Stetzer. Click here to read his whole post.
We want “a conversation that honors God, leads to learning, and provokes us to love and good deeds.”
1. Please do not post anonymous comments.
2. Be sure to stay on topic.
3. You can share opinions, disagree and even argue, but you must be polite.
4. While you can graciously take apart someone's perspective, you may not tear apart an individual.
5. If you do not follow the rules we will have to block you from commenting further.
6. Don't be a troll.
Trolls come in many forms, but wikipedia explains:
In internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory, extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as an online discussion forum, chat room or blog, with the primary intent of provoking other users into an emotional response or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.
7. Please don't feed the trolls.
Arguing with a troll just distracts from the conversation, and feeds their need for validation. Ignore them when they appear.
8. Feel free to make your point, once.
I look forward to interacting with you in cyberspace!
