Committees

“Every member a minister” has been a catch phrase at Woodland since its beginning nearly 21 years ago. The church’s structure of Committees and Special Ministries provides many opportunities for the fulfillment of this maxim.

The Committee on Committees is responsible for identifying members who would like to participate in Woodland’s lay leadership through Committee and Special Ministries membership. If you have an interest and would like to volunteer for any of the committees listed, please complete the appropriate information on the attached form and turn it in to the church office.

COMMITTEES
The work of our committees is broad in scope. The focus is on planning, organizing and implementing a full church program.

MINISTRIES
A Ministry is very limited in scope. The focus of the Ministry is on “doing” a specific ministry. For a list of ministries, please click here.

  • Ministries ebb and flow with the interest of church members.
  • The Committee on Committees does NOT staff Special Ministries.
  • Participation in a Ministry is based solely on the interest of church members and most have no limit on participation.
  • Church members may be involved with multiple Ministries.
  • There are no limits on how long a person can participate in a Ministry.
  • Each Ministry falls under the umbrella of one of the 12 committees and keeps their “parent” committee informed of their activities.
  • Any church member may, with prior church approval, start a Ministry for which they feel called.
