LETTING YOUR LIGHT SHINE
It is almost time for the school bell to ring again. The children at Larkspur Elementary will be eager to see the new building on campus and greet their teacher for the year. For many children, school is the best part of their day and the best time in a school day is the day their Kids Hope USA mentor comes to visit.

Every two years, Woodland members (with help from our friends at Covenant Baptist Church) build a Habitat for Humanity home with a family in need. This will be our fourth house, having built ones in 2004, 2006 and 2008. In the past, as many as 100 members have helped with this project that changes the lives of the partnering family.
Pablo and Elizabeth Gonzalez and their three children presently live in a two bedroom apartment. Their children are Pablo—age 11, Beatriz—age 9 and Saul—age 4. We will be building a 4 bedroom house with the Gonzalez family. This will be the first time that the children will have their own bedrooms and it will be the first time they will have a yard to play in. Mr. Gonzalez works in construction and says this house will be a dream come true for his family.
