The Baylor University Men's Choir is an auditioned group of male musicians on the campus of Baylor University. Begun in 1895 by
Professor Hargrove, an English professor, the group has enjoyed a rich history. The group's annual season includes performances for Parent's Weekend, Fall and Spring Concerts, tour concerts, the Baylor Christmas Concert and frequent appearances for university guests and alumni. Past concert highlights include performances for the Texas Music Educators Convention, an appearance at Carnegie Hall and at Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church in New York City, and an appearance with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. They have also sung for the Baptist General Convention of Texas, the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship National Assembly, and the Southwestern Division of the American Choral Directors Association. In the summer of 2005 they traveled to Kenya, and in 2009, they traveled to Argentina.
Membership in the Baylor Men’s Choir is open by audition to all male students on the Baylor Campus and includes representatives from many departments and majors. Currently, fewer than one-half of the group are music majors. Rehearsals are limited to one hour and fifteen minutes twice each week. Dr. Randall Bradley who is the Ben H. William Professor of Music, the director of the Church Music Program and the Center for Christian Music Studies has been the director of the Baylor Men’s Choir since 2000.
