A Contemplative Worship Service

Woodland Baptist Church will be celebrating the traditional Lenten worship service of Maundy Thursday. The service will be Thursday evening, April 1, in the Sanctuary. “Maundy” is the Latin word for commandment. The Church has historically observed the Lord’s Supper the evening before Good Friday, remembering Christ’s Passover celebration with his disciples the evening before he was arrested. The service will be quiet, contemplative and simple.

Many members of Woodland have expressed interest in beginning a regular contemplative worship service as part of our ministry and outreach. This will be a good introduction to a Contemplative Worship style.

Join us Thursday, April 21, 7:00 PM in the Sanctuary as Rich Rathbun leads us in this special service of worship including observing the Lord’s Supper.
